Another Take on Peony Blossom

Hello friends!
Do you love "dreamy" cards? I think today's card is kind of dreamy...!!?

you are the best-002
I am popping in to share a quick post about my 2nd take with Peony Blossom

I have a play with the vellum and dimension.
There is not much of a technique involved...except some paper-layering.
you are the best

Here is a close-u. Under the die cut is a piece of pattern paper from Altenew's New Day Paper Pad.
you are the best-001

Why mess with technique when a few simple die cuts can do so much?
you are the best-003

Hope that you find it dreamy as I do.

Keeping It Light and Fresh with A Guessing Game, Too!

Hello friends!
I set out to create a card with this gorgeous die....

I decided that I want to keep things light and fresh. Winter is just too darn long....
We need GREENS and FLOWERS in our lives!

happy birthday-004

I started out with cutting and coloring this die before bed time....

happy birthday-002

Haha, it works like magic the next day when you wake up.
Pre-planning the layout and design is almost always a good idea.

Happy Birthday

So, I created a matching background with the die.

happy birthday-001

I made this card to beat the winter blah.
I think I have succeeded it because looking at this card makes me happy!

happy birthday-003

To keep my blog post light and fresh....

For once, I am not going to explain what techniques I used.
INSTEAD, YOU, my dear readers/followers, please point out WHAT technique I used in this card. I will pick a random winner who will receive one of my cards and this very Penny Black Metal Die called Love Notes.

👉👉 One comment per person. Please list only ONE technique in your answer.
And it's OK if you list an answer that someone already mentioned....
Basically, ANYONE who sees and comments on this post has a chance to win!
The winner will be announced on this Sunday's post.
Thanks so much for your support and feedback.
Your use of my affiliate links to make your online purchase is much appreciated.

I am listing the supplies that I used for this project, so at least you know "what's involved".😉

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge #461

Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge !! Thank you for joining us for the "Add a Die Cut" Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too :-)

This week the challenge is...

Make Your Own Background

We are using Lawn Fawn products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some, we love to see them used :-)

For my project, I used several Lawn Fawn products ( please see link below). Dies and stamps are the easiest way to create a background.

love ya

First, I die cut the sentiment die and placed them in the card front. I then stamped the leftover space with the flowers. For the final touches, I added gilding with the help of Sticky Embossing Powder. This background is truly one of a kind, don't you think?

love ya (2)

If you look at your stash, you can easily pull out a few elements to create a background.
Hope you are inspired and now want create a background of your own.

Hello friends!
I am sharing a NEW feature in my blog.
Recently I got a hold of some goodies from the friendly folks over Technique Tuesday.
I thought of this idea to feature their products and TT people loved it!
you have my heart

That is....
How about sharing a TECHNIQUE on a TUESDAY?
And because the TT folks are super nice, they offer to give out a prize to my readers/followers!!
That means YOU get a chance to play with TT goodies for FREE!
Cascading Border Die HERE (Technique Tuesday Shop)
With that, I am sharing Die Cutting Technique.

I saw it on Simon Says Stamp

Technique Tuesday CASCADING HEARTS BORDER DIY Steel Dies 02615 — $14.99

Cascading Heart Border Die is simply one of a kind and can be used all year round.
you have my heart

Special features:
Inlaid die Cutting: the heart mesh with the border and inlaid die cutting provides a seamless border/transition
Partial Die Cutting: normally you will have to cut only part of the die with paper. In this case, this die does it all for you.  I only needed to choose the right paper!

you have my heart

Use paper creatively: the vellum and glitter paper are not BFF with each other. However, using them both sparingly, they can bring out the BEST of each other!

you have my heart

Add a strip of something something...: in this case, I added a thin piece of striped design paper. It seems to help with the stamped sentiment!!? Yes? I like it!
Go with the flow: there is absolutely no movement involved in this. However, you can sense the subtle motion from the placement of sequins and hearts.

Technique Tuesday offers FREE US shipping with order over $75.

Check out the awesome sales HERE.

You can find the Cascading Heart Border here.
you have my heart

I hope that you are inspired by some of the things I share.

Use a Large Die

Hello friends!
I am popping in with a quick post about this very ornate and detailed die from Spellbinders.

Shapeabilities Floral Gatefold Etched Dies Flower Garden by Sharyn Sowell

see Spellbinders Shop here

(click highlighted links for details)

This die measures 4.15 x 7.10 in. and is meant to for creating a Gatefold card.
It is more than plenty to cover entire card front. However, I decided to create a regular card with this large die. I took an easy way out and came up with a simple design.

I cut down the doily-like die cut and added a strip of foil. As usual, my low-tech foiling works like a charm!
The sentiment is from

For the butterfly, it was part of the embellishment from February 2017 Card Kit.
This gorgeous metal die does it all.

Virginia, I love all three of your works of art! I love the bluebird set against the tan cutout. It really makes the bird stand out with its soft coloring. And your soft coloring leads to your other projects! You have such a light touch with color. The oval wreath is just awash with softness. I love the frame. (That's my favorite but maybe because your grand niece who is such a cutie!) Your work is just gorgeous!

More Vellum Flowers!

Happy Saturday, friends!
Hope you are enjoying a great day so far...

happy birthday

I am popping in with another stamp and die combo.
Stunning Cosmo now has a matching die (Altenew shop)!

Stunning Cosmo Stamp/Die Combo

I was in the mood for alcohol inks and took out some vellum and started inking...
Once I created my own vellum paper, I embossed the images and die cut a few.

happy birthday-001

The stems weren't stamped or embossed. I only used the dies to cut them out.
I love the natural and rustic look.

happy birthday
